A family recent attended our free community workshop, then took advantage of their free family consultation. MIT was the dream school for one child but they had dropped it from consideration due to cost. They discovered in our consultation they could afford it. This new client family also found they could help much more with college to lessen the loan burden on their two college-bound children. The lessons for parents: 1) sticker price is not necessarily what your family will pay, and 2) there are college funding strategies to comfortably increase the funds available to pay for college of which most parents (and their advisors) are not aware.
